Amwood Building Systems is a family owned company specializing in factory-built custom home construction components for over 50 years! Our roof trusses, floor decks, and wall panels are all built inside at our facility in Montezuma, IA. These are permanent, full time positions offering a comprehensive benefit plan.

In this position, you will construct various wood frame components of homes in conjunction with our production software and designs by taking the labeled parts and following the plans. Projects vary in complexity, as all components that we build are custom made.

Duties:

• Measure and cut building materials
• Assemble framing components
• Follow safety standards and policies
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Work together with all team members
• Other duties as assigned

Skills Required:

• Ability to read and comprehend design plans
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Ability to lift and carry heavy pieces of materials
• Comfortable identifying and using a variety of hand and power tools; such as powered saws, nail and staple guns.
• Knowledge of various types of lumber and building materials

Wage listed if for entry level framers. Additional pay scale for framing specialists based on experience. Review after 90 days with potential wage increase. As you learn our processes and work in multiple departments, opportunity for promotion to Senior Framer with higher pay scale.

As a Custom Home Framer at Amwood Homes, you will be integral to the construction process, focusing on frame carpentry and utilizing hand and power tools to create high-quality structures. Reporting to the Production Manager, your core skills in carpentry and heavy lifting will be essential in executing precise framing tasks. Additionally, your ability to read blueprints and work with various materials will ensure that our homes meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and design. Pay: $18.70 – $21.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
